About Us

It all begins with an idea

We started something…

It started with an idea. In 2015, inspired by the global Startup Weekend movement, we rallied our passionate community to hold the first Startup Weekend in Taranaki. With it, we started a movement to empower anyone to develop an idea or turn it into a business.

From humble beginnings, we've grown into a force for change. We've witnessed numerous businesses thrive after our Startup Weekends and other programs, and expanded our offerings to support Taranaki’s business and innovation ecosystem. Monthly meetups foster learning and connection, while our Office Hours provides one-on-one mentoring and coaching. We welcome everyone, whether or not you have an idea or any business experience.

We thrive on helping people do things differently. Community connectors, business advisors, innovation consultants and seasoned practitioners – our diverse team brings a wealth of experience to help people understand innovation and entrepreneurship. We've evolved beyond Startup Weekends and now offer comprehensive advice, design and delivery of related learning programs. Our impact is recognised in Taranaki and across New Zealand.

We believe that ANYONE can be innovative and enterprising. We are energised by helping you grow in this space and supporting your ideas to take flight.

Let's DOSO (Do Something) amazing together.

Our Impact

We are connectors, community builders, entrepreneurs, and ultimately, doers. At Doso, we believe that every small action has the potential to make a big difference, and we are dedicated to creating a better world for future generations. Through our activities, we have been able to transform the lives of countless people in small ways. Whether it's opening someone to the possibilities of an entrepreneurial mindset, or putting them in touch with a potential cofounder, our focus is on community, wayfinding, celebration and events. All in the name of supporting those who want to do something.
