September Meetup - Founder's Talk: Trackit Energy's Kevin Best
Kevin Best, founder, CEO and Director of Efinity Digital, and co-founder, CEO, and Director of Trackit Energy, has transformed the way the oil and gas industry monitors and manages resources, through the innovative SaaS product, Trackit Energy. Using Efinity Digital as the platform for new innovation Kevin, along with co-founder Sonny Fernando, built a local team that successfully launched the product into the NZ marketplace before heading offshore, eventually gaining a significant foothold in the Asian market.
Trackit was recently acquired by the Norwegian software company Kabal, marking a truly global chapter for Kevin and the team here in Ngamotu, New Plymouth.
Join us for an engaging session where Kevin will share his entrepreneurial journey, the challenges of building a tech-driven business from Taranaki, and how Trackit Energy has set new standards in resource management. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast, a startup founder, or just damned curious to learn more about this inspiring local success story, this meetup is your chance to learn from someone who’s been there, done that!
Thanks as always to epic sponsors New Plymouth District Council.

Startup Meetup August
August Startup Meetup: “Slicing Pie” – getting your fair share(s)
“Sweat equity” – which part is the sweat, and which part is the equity? And, if you're working in a startup team, how do you share the equity in a way that's ... equitable? If it's not set up to be fair, you may be setting up for a fight – sooner or later.
Enter Slicing Pie, a method for balancing the risks and rewards of starting up, for founders and their teams.
If you’ve ever tried to figure out how who owns what in a startup, and who is owed what, this meetup's for you. (If you've ever had to pay a legal bill to sort this out, you might be doubly interested!)
We're expecting a lively Q&A over the beer and the pizza, so bring yourself, your curiosity, and you appetite and join us for a bit of entertaining information and a chance to mingle among some of Taranaki's most enterprising individuals.
Big thanks to sponsor NPDC for their support of Taranaki's entrepreneurial community.

Spark. Ignite. Disrupt. Doso's Pitch Slam is back!
Startup Pitch SLAM is back for 2024, with a pitch-off from our brave, budding entrepreneurs. They'll pitch their make-the-world-better ideas in the hopes of winning the audience vote and the prize money to kickstart their venture.
Wēta Watcher AI won $500 at our first ever slam in 2021 and last year, we doubled the prize pool to $1000 for Our Garden Party. Come be one of the first people to hear about these ideas and vote with your dollars.
Why you should attend:
Connect: Meet and network with entrepreneurs, innovators, enablers and anyone curious about cool ideas and entrepreneurship.
Pitch: Change the world with your business idea! (Apply by June 30th)
Eat: Eat good food & enjoy good vibes. Yes, we feed you!
Vote: Decide who wins the cash prize pool!
Please bring $20 cash* to be paid at the door. All cash will go to the winner with the winning pitch, as voted for by you.
Think you have the next big idea? Applications are open. Pitch your world-bettering concept and win the crowd (and the prize pool!). Tell us about your idea.

Make it Work - business incubation for innovative parents
Many parents we talked to wonder what reentry into the workforce might look like. For some, time away from work has given them space to explore ideas for earning an income on their terms. Others are finding that entrepreneurship sounds like an appealing adventure. If you have anything in common with those parents, you may be interested in the Make it Work programme.
